Okay, I'm a few months away from sitting my Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination. I'm sitting for seven subjects including English Language. During the English exam one has to write two essays: one a short story and the other an argumentative. It being an important, regional examination no one apart from officials from the Caribbean Examinations Council has access until results are released. That's all well and good.
My issue is the statement found on the website of the Council as it pertains to their regulations on examination work.
"Every application to enter the examination will be deemed to constitute an agreement by the candidate with the Council to assign copyright of all his examination work, practical or written, to the Council."
Now, I have no problem with any work I might submit to any of my other examinations but I actually find that some of my best prose work is conducted in classroom and examination situations. I'm lazy and don't like to start work on my own. So, I'd like to be able to keep my intellectual property rights on my essays thank you very much, or at least only have a temporary copyright agreement until the exam results are released in their entirety, including special awards. It is my work after all.

[01] Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?
Well, I'm doing this aren't I? This kind of stupid since it will have been posted if anyone happens to be reading it and the answer will be self-evident. As for 'The Controversial Survey' bit, what's democracy without controversy?
[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?
No, I don't really feel the need to indulge in it. But, don't let me get you down if that's your thing...
[03] Abortion: for or against it?
I, of course, daily advocate for the killing of potential humans in the form of unborn foetuses. Beca
Arguments
"ARGUMENT FROM WHAT MAKES SENSE
(1) Doesn't it just make more sense that an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-good deity created the world out of nothingness, from magic, essentially, and then punished us for eating a piece of fruit, and then incarnated himself in human flesh and came down to shed his own blood so he could break his own rules, and then went through hell on a temporary basis and then went back into the sky and promised to come back and take everyone who believed in him to this heaven no one has ever seen?
(2) Well, doesn't it?
(3) Therefore, God exists."

I found it amusing but if you fin
Graduation
Well, yesterday I graduated from Fifth Form. I am now officially unemployed. For those of you who don't know Fifth Form is the equivalent of sophomore year. Students are between 15 and 16 years of age (although we had an eighteen year old in ours *snickers*). They sit a set of exams and receive a school-leaving certificate. Legally speaking this is the end of formal education for most. One can continue on to do Sixth Form which is two years of studying at a higher level followed by another set of exams. After that is university.
I now have a little bit of paper with fancy calligraphy on it saying I have completed 12 years of schooling (7 at
Appreciation
I never realised how much I am loved by the people around me. And by people I might never have met if it hadn't been for a random connection. A simple mistake is all it takes for you to see that people who love you will go above and beyond to help you out if they possibly can.
I had forgotten I had my glasses on and dove into a pool in the river on our way back from a hike. So, of course, my glasses slide off my nose. I resurface and emit foul language at my stupidity. My family members/hiking buddies notice this and are duly distressed for me. Unfortunately the pool is deeper than all of us are tall and my dive stirred up all the accumulate
